RhinoCFD Live Workshop
External Wind Flow Simulations
Live Webinar Recording
PRESENTER
Angelos Chronis is a Marie Curie Fellow of the Innochain ITN and senior faculty at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona. He has previously worked as an Associate for the Applied Research + Development group at Foster + Partners. His main research interest lies in the integration of simulation, optimization and performance drive in the design and fabrication process and he is actively involved in several scientific committees as an author, reviewer and organizer.
DESCRIPTION
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations allow designers to simulate the effect of their designs in the urban wind flows and assess their buildings’ performance in key aspects, such as pedestrian comfort, wind stress and natural ventilation.
RhinoCFD provides an easy to use interface for performing CFD simulations within the Rhinoceros 3D environment and through the well established CFD solver, PHOENICS, by CHAM. This webinar will introduce designers to RhinoCFD and teach them how to set up and run and visualize the results of CFD simulations, all within the environment of Rhino. The webinar will focus on external flows and will address urban CFD simulation problems. No prior knowledge of RhinoCFD or any other CFD software is required.
