Diego Apellániz is the developer of the Rhino and Grasshopper 3D integrations of One Click LCA. Diego is a research assistant at UkD Berlin with main research interests in computer-aided structural design and the application possibilities of AI and machine learning in architecture. Diego studied civil engineering at the Politéncnica University in Madrid. After graduating, he worked for three years at the engineering office Fhecor Ingenieros Consultores and since 2017 he has been working as a structural engineer and consultant for computer-aided design at Bollinger + Grohmann Ingenieure.


He has participated in numerous demanding projects in collaboration with firms of world-famous architects such as Sir Norman Foster and Solano Benítez. In Berlin he worked on the revitalization of the Steglitzer Kreisel skyscraper. In 2018 he won the AEC Berlin Hackathon.
