Brian Ringley
Brian Ringley is a Senior Researcher at WeWork where he leads research efforts in construction automation and robotics in collaboration with WeWork’s Design, Construction, and Logistics teams.
He teaches design computation and industrial automation for architectural manufacturing at Pratt Institute’s Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD) program. Previously he taught at the University of Cincinnati, CUNY City Tech, and CUNY City College, and has instructed workshops at +FARM, RPI, and the AA Visiting School.
He has lectured at the AIA National Headquarters in DC, the Center for Architecture in NYC, the Center for Architecture + Design in San Francisco, the Boston Architectural College, and Kansas State University, and has presented at numerous conferences including the AEC Technology Symposium, the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the AIA TAP Building Connections Conference, Autodesk University, Facades+, RTC/BILT, Shape to Fabrication, and the TxA Emerging Design + Technology Conference.
His work has been published in Data-Driven Design and Construction (Randy Deutsch, Wiley, 2015), Digital Design Exercises for Architecture Students (Jason S. Johnson and Joshua Vermillion, Routledge, 2016), and Convergence: An Integrated Framework for Architecture (Deutsch, Wiley, 2017).
Prior to WeWork, Brian was an Associate and Design Technology Specialist at the global architecture and consulting practice Woods Bagot. He has also worked for R&Sie(n) in Paris, Dellekamp Arquitectos in Mexico City, and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates in NYC and London.
Brian runs the design technology education website and podcast Designalyze along with Full Stack Modular's Zach Downey.
